Little Polar Bears
Little Polar Bears includes both "Learn to Skate" and "Learn to Play Hockey." Once a player has met the requirements of "Learn to Skate," then he/she will progress to "Learn to Play Hockey."
Session 1 is currently happening. Session 2 and Session 3 are live, and we are ready for your registration!
The overall program is geared towards our players who are between 4-7, but we're happy to discuss your child's individual circumstances. It’s important that your child knows how to stand independently on the ice.
The goals of this program are to develop the FUNdamentals of skating/playing:
- Forward and backward skating
- Stopping with full control
- Edge work (inside and outside)
- Forwards and backwards crossovers
- Turns with agility, balance, coordination, and speed
- Stickhandling and controlling a puck around various obstacles
- Practicing basic concepts of gameplay
Games
The Learn to Play Hockey will be introduced to the basics of gameplay by practicing cross-ice games using a puck and ringette.
What To Wear
Learn to play hockey stars must wear full hockey gear. Learn to skaters should wear warm clothes and winter gloves.
Session 1 (2025-2026)
Learn to Play Hockey will be at Hot Shot from 8:45-9:30 am.
LTP Dates: 9/13, 9/20, 9/27, 10/4, 10/11, 10/18, 10/25, 11/1 (8 sessions)
Learn to Skate will be at Hot Shot from 8:30-9:15 am.
LTS Dates: 9/14, 9/21, 9/28, 10/5, 10/12, 10/19, 10/26, 11/2 (8 sessions)
