Travel Hockey (Sq/PW/Ban)

Winter Club is a youth travel hockey program serving the Lake Forest and Lake Bluff communities and nearby towns. Our teams play in the Central States Prospects Division. All Winter Club teams feature professional coaching and development. Formed in 1902, Winter Club is the oldest youth hockey program in IL.

Ages

Winter Club Hockey is a community based hockey program serving youths 14 and younger. We primarily serve the Lake Forest, Lake Bluff and nearby towns, allowing our kids to play and develop a love of hockey with their friends each season.

When

Winter Club's regular season begins with tryouts in late August and continues through mid March. We also offer a spring hockey program which runs from April through mid-May.

Where

Winter Club features 2 outdoor sheets - 1 full size & 1 studio rink for exceptional access to ice. Our teams also play at Lake Forest Academy and other local rinks. Games are played throughout Northern Illinois and surrounding areas.

Practices

Depending on age our players can expect to practice 2-4 times per week. Goalies will also receive dedicated clinics and coaching as part of program fees.

Games

Depending on league, games typically run from mid September through mid- February. We try to avoid games over the Thanksgiving and December holiday weeks, preserving that time for our players to be with family.

Jerseys

New players will pay a new player equipment fee of $350 which includes game jerseys, game socks, pant shell, practice jersey, practice socks, sweatshirt, and helmet stickers.

Additional Costs

There is a $1,000.00 deposit that will be charged at the completion of registration. If your player attends tryouts and is assigned to a team and no longer decides to participate in Winter Club hockey you will forfeit the $1,000.00 deposit.

Tournaments

Player fees will cover one tournament to be paid by the club. Tournaments will be selected by the parents of each specific team at the beginning of the season after team selections. If teams desire to travel to an additional tournament families will split the cost accordingly.

Registration for the 2025-2026 Fall season is now open!! Receive your $100 early bird discount if registered by July 25th. (The early bird discount has already been applied to the fees in the registration)
