Learn To Skate
The Little Polar Bears includes a fantastic "Learn to Skate" program.
The overall program is geared towards children who are between 4-7, but we're happy to discuss individual circumstances. It’s important that your child knows how to stand independently on the ice.
The goals of this program are to develop the FUNdamentals of skating:
- Marching up and down the ice with a dip
- Forward and backward skating with a glide the length of the skater's body
- Stopping with full control
- Swizzles
- Scooter pushes
- One foot glide forward and backward
- Turns with agility, balance, coordination, and speed
